Coyote vs. Acme
20264.0 ★
“Closest thing to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This film has no right to look this good, and for it to almost not see the light of day and still be this level of quality is funny as shit. Outside of seeing a little mice in the theater (this why we just go to lincoln square) which was on brand for the movie, lol. The anti-predator spray literally had me fucking dying. What a little gem of a film”

Spider-Man: No Way Home
20213.5 ★
“still smile when i see andrew and tobey EDIT: The best of the three by far, but it still carries over a lot of the same problems. The setup happens way too fast. Peter and his friends don’t get into MIT, so he immediately asks Doctor Strange to make everyone forget he is Spider-Man. I needed to see them get denied by more schools or watch the people around Peter face real consequences before he made a decision that big. But this is also the first movie where Peter actually has to live with a problem he created. Aunt May’s death works because Peter finally loses something and can’t get bailed out. The ending where he lets everyone forget him and chooses to live alone is the most Peter Parker thing this version has ever done. Seeing Tobey and Andrew again is fan service, but I love Spider-Man, so that shit worked on me. They both feel like they continued living after their movies ended. Andrew still has all that pain behind his eyes when he talks about Gwen, and Tobey feels like a much more mature Spider-Man. The mirror dimension sequence is also fun and actually lets Peter show how smart he is. My biggest problem is how fake everything looks. The streets feel lifeless, the suits are constantly CGI and the whole movie looks like it was shot inside a video game. It’s basically fan service: the movie. I enjoyed it, but I still don’t know if we needed three movies just to complete Peter’s origin story.”

Spider-Man: Far From Home
20191.5 ★
“I watched this entire movie at 1.5x speed, and I still couldn’t wait for it to end. Everything Peter learned in *Homecoming*, along with his whole journey in space, is just gone. New York is gone, his feelings for MJ come out of nowhere, and Peter spends the whole movie running away from his responsibilities. The movie wants us to care about Peter living up to Tony’s legacy, but that whole thing feels completely empty. EDITH is just some random sunglasses that were created for this movie. Nobody knew about them before, they hold no weight for us, and they clearly hold no weight for Peter because he gives them away so easily. Even Mysterio is another angry Tony Stark employee. Tony is dead, and Peter still isn’t allowed to have a villain who belongs to him. Everything still has to connect back to Iron Man. The illusion scene is great, but that shit is like five minutes out of the whole movie. This isn’t just a bad Spider-Man movie. It’s a boring, mid movie in general, and it isn’t even a good MCU movie.”

Spider-Man: Homecoming
20172.5 ★
“First time rewatching this in like four years, and it’s honestly better than I remembered. I appreciate it more when I look at it like a new Spider-Man comic run written by a different author instead of treating it like THE definitive Spider-Man. But almost everything wrong with the movie starts within the first 15 minutes. Peter treats Civil War like the greatest trip of his life. No fear, no consequences, no worry. Nothing about his introduction feels earned, and even when the movie recognizes that, his entire arc is still built around earning Tony Stark’s approval. My biggest problem is that New York never feels alive. New York is supposed to be a character in Spider-Man. Here, it feels like disconnected locations, sets and CGI. The school feels empty, the streets have no real energy and this $175 million movie somehow makes Peter’s world feel incredibly small. Still, Tom Holland did the best with what he was given. He brings real joy, nuance and boyhood to Peter, and his need to prove himself works. The Tony and Peter relationship has plenty of flaws, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me smile. I appreciate it more as a different Spider-Man comic run instead of treating it like THE definitive Spider-Man.”

Wake Up Dead Man
20254.0 ★
“day 1/365 i don’t know why but this whole film just hit for me, yeah out of three movie this one was most predictable of who was killer (did have a nice little twist in the end though) but just priest storyline and how he is determined to help these group of people and follow on the path of Christ and being able to understand and forgive the people that try to blame him is very moving. im not even religious and it hit me, and i love the dynamic use of lighting in the film to sorrow and hope. how the hole church plays a part of the film. idk gang might be in up there for me, definitely better than the second one.”

In the Mood for Love
20005.0 ★
“In the Mood for Love hit me way harder than I expected. Not in the “masterpiece” way people love to hype it up, but in that quiet way where a movie taps you on the shoulder and says: “slow down… pay attention.” And that’s really what stood out to me. Not the colors. Not the cinematography . Not even the chemistry. It’s the repetition. The patterns. The things you only catch once you’ve seen them enough times. “You notice things when you pay attention.” That line sits in the middle of the film like it’s speaking directly to you. Because everything in this movie is built on noticing the little things. The quiet changes. The pieces that don’t fit. The moments that repeat until the cracks start showing. This movie doesn’t explain anything to you. It trusts you to put it together. And that trust is what makes it hit so hard. --- watch the rest of my thoughts lol : www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1crqurqDR8”

The Running Man
20253.0 ★
“type shit type shit... Edgar Wright delivers a killer first half with great world-building and a believable, desperate main character. The movie falls off once the book-adaptation structure kicks in and the tension drops after the “Last Man” reveal. Fun and entertaining, but ultimately mid — 3/5. youtu.be/7J2KFIRLMe0”
